  • create new and further develop existing opportunities for disabled people to compete in sport at local, regional and national level

If you are a coach or volunteer, you can take on the UK Disability Inclusion Training (UK DIT) course. Workshops are held to provide participants with a greater awareness of tutoring and coaching candidates with a disability.

The Typhoo Sport for All UK Disability Inclusion Training workshops are a suite of workshops which were developed and are delivered by the Home Nations Disability Sport Organisations. The development of the workshops was supported by Typhoo Tea Ltd.

The philosophy of the workshops are to provide all participants with tailored content that is relevant to their role (whether as a volunteer or employed) and will enhance the opportunities and level of service available to disabled people throughout the UK. FDSW are the only approved delivers in Wales for these workshops.

Find out more about UK DIT and how to find a course near you on the Disability Sports Wales website.

Disability Sport Wales have introduced insport to provide inclusive, quality sessions to disabled people. It is a four tiered (Ribbon, Bronze, Silver and Gold) identification and accreditation process which any sports club can go through to show they are committed to providing and delivering inclusive sport. DSW have designed the insport programmes so that they support the partner in developing inclusive provision, opportunity and practices which will ensure that disabled people gain access to the level of participation / performance they require.

Look out for the insport logo that highlights some of the most inclusive sports clubs across Wales.

Please contact the Anglesey Sports Development Unit if you are involved in a club that provides inclusive sport which has not been recognised through the insport programme.

There are a number of clubs and weekly sessions offering a variety of sporting activities for disabled people, a list of opportunities is included below.
